NDISDA &
Impact Housing National Strategic Alliance
- The Partnership

NDISDA’s involvement with the Impact Housing National Strategic Alliance is a key example of how both organisations work together to improve outcomes for people with disability, particularly in the Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) sector:

1. Shared Purpose in SDA and Housing Innovation

NDISDA brings SDA expertise, professional networks, and a deep focus on participant‑centred practice to the Alliance. Through this partnership, Impact Housing cultivates stronger engagement with SDA providers, designers, assessors, and other professionals working across the disability housing ecosystem — aligning insights from NDISDA’s SDA network with broader housing sector innovation.

2. Collaborative National Events and Forums

NDISDA collaborates with Impact Housing on national events, roundtables, conferences, and workshops that tackle shared sector priorities such as:

  • Sustainable, ethical SDA development

  • Integrated housing pathways linking disability, health, and community services

  • Solutions for complex needs including crisis accommodation and discharge planning

  • Cross‑sector education and capability‑building.

These events provide platforms for policy discussion, best practice exchange, and strategic networking across housing and disability sectors.

3. Strengthening Cross‑Sector Collaboration

By partnering, NDISDA and the Alliance help break down silos between disability, housing, health, and community sectors - making it easier for organisations to work together on accessible housing design, funding pathways, support services, and policy influence that directly benefits people with disability.

Why this Partnership matters

Together, NDISDA and the Impact Housing National Strategic Alliance:

  • Amplify impact and reach within the SDA and disability housing sectors.

  • Promote integrated solutions that consider housing as part of wider social, health, and community systems.

  • Support sector readiness for emerging policy, funding, and practice shifts.

  • Facilitate meaningful stakeholder engagement and collaboration across multiple disciplines.

This synergistic partnership helps strengthen Australia’s national response to accessible, sustainable housing solutions — ultimately improving housing stability, choice, and quality of life for people with disability.
